the United States should be overthrown and replaced by multiple states with constitutions that reflect the values & needs of the people

 This July 4, 2003, I propose creating a political party that has the goal of creating new countries governed by new constitutions.

Jean Jacques Rousseau suggested there should be a social contract that binds members of society and is agree to by members of that society.

I would like to begin the discussion of what these new constitutions would contain. And as we have learned from the US experience, getting an agreement into a constitution is only par to of the struggle. There must be a way to enforce the agreement.

The political party will serve to be a political party. It is an organization that people join and affiliate with to put their personal stamp on politics by influencing the party and building power as the political party gains power.

So, the political party will need a process for having people join and say they want [something] in the constitution of the post-United States society. Over time, different potential constitutions will emerge. Some will be similar enough that they can be reconciled to the satisfaction of over 85% of the supporters on both sides. But there will be differences that can't be reconciled. These differences will become different states/countries.

In addition to the core political party that exists within U.S. politics until the United States is no more (or cedes land for us to create our own states), there need to be party-adjacent institutions. State and local parties are part of the core political party. But there need to be media outlets and party-adjacent nonprofits/NGOs. The news outlets aligned with the party need to hammer the idea that Western society, including the United States, is failing. The explanation of why the West is failing needs to be explained to the audience. And the solution should be presented is an orderly transition to new states where people support the official social contract and the official social contract is the one being enforced by the state.
